The Human Rights Tour for 2012 kicked off with a bang in Cardiff.
The Tour visited 16 different cities/towns over the country and this year Boston hosted one of these events. The tour focused on:
- The Origins of Human Rights
- Protecting Human Rights
- The Human Rights Act
- The Struggle Today
The event was well represented with people from diverse backgrounds and occupations and was a resounding success with excellent feedback from those attending.
An additional Article 20 was even suggested “the right to warmth” due to the venues heating not working on the day!!!
Sophie Howes from BIHR stated “The British Institute of Human Rights welcomed the opportunity to work with Just Lincolnshire for the second year running on our Human Rights Tour. As a small human rights charity we rely on local partner organisations to bring local expertise and legitimacy to our tour events and Just Lincolnshire did exactly that. We ran a very succesful event in Boston which was really well attended by individuals from a broad range of organisations and interests, which made for some lively discussions on the day. One of our best Tour events to date!”
